The Job Opportunity

Aberdeen Cyrenians are currently looking for Senior Practitioners who will lead and participate in the provision of a high standard of person led care and support for service users in their own homes.

​

The Senior Practitioner will support the Lead Practitioner and Service Manager with the continued development and provision of our Care at Home service. The Senior Practitioner will carry out induction, mentoring and field based supervision of new staff and  will support with on the job training.

Role Requirements

• A minimum qualification of N/SVQ3 in Adult Health and Social Care, or equivalent professional qualification (nursing etc)

• Able and willing to drive

• Experience working as a Private Duty Nurse or has experience delivering care in someone's home

• Clean criminal record, including a check undertaken in the candidate’s home country prior to relocation

• Good spoken and written English (must be capable of achieving CEFR level B1)

• Literacy and numeracy at a level to maintain all the appropriate paperwork, write reports and support plans and give budgeting advice.

• Able to use computer applications such as Word, databases.

• An understanding of social issues such as homelessness, mental health, substance misuse

• Emotional Awareness

• Service User orientation

For the successful candidates, company will provide support with:

•  Sponsoring their application for a Tier 2 General Migrant visa (including supporting with the application process and making appointments)

• Relocation flight to the UK

• Temporary accommodation on arrival in Aberdeen

• Support in sourcing permanent accommodation and settling in the city

• Support with registering with the Scottish Social Services Council and any other appropriate professional bodies

• A thorough induction including support with cultural awareness.

Aberdeen Cyrenians, a charity and social care services provider and through our membership of Granite Care Consortium, we are one of the default providers for care at home services in Aberdeen City, commissioned by the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership. We primarily provide care at home services to older people, those with mental health issues and those with multiple complex needs such as drug and alcohol issues and those with a criminal justice history.
