The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued the guidelines on the provision of financial assistance to displaced Landbased and Sea-based Filipino workers due to coronavirus diseases (COVID-19), known as “DOLE-AKAP for OFWs”.
In this connection, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) will be accepting online applications beginning Monday, 13 April 2020. To avail of this USD200.00 or PHP10,000.00 financial assistance, criteria/guidelines have to be met. Source:owwa.gov.ph
The government has introduced emergency legislation that allows NMC to create our Covid-19 register. This legislation means that NMC can temporarily register fit, proper and suitably experienced people, so they can practise if they want and feel able to do so. Source:
